About Us

GK Transport Ltd is a well-respected family run business offering a prompt, professional and personal service to its customers.

Since 1982 when GK Transport Ltd first started trading, it has provided transport to a various cross-section of companies – some needing a daily dedicated truck, whilst others require a contracted vehicle to suit their requirements. Contracted vehicles are supplied in livery and sign-written to the customer’s own specification – at no further cost.

We are a small, tightly knit, but friendly crew, offering competitive rates and good reliable service (hence our good reputation). We provide nationwide service, transporting anything ranging from a 0.5 tonnes “panic” van  to 28 tonnes articulated vehicles. But most of all, we always respond to our customer’s needs. If they are in a tight spot, then we pull out all the stops to do whatever we can to help – it’s as simple as that!

History

GK Transport was founded in 1982 after Geoff Kibble decided to take redundancy from Brevitts and start his own business. The business was started with two trucks, based on a contract for Ductile Steels GIynn wed – from where we started to learn and grow.

10 years later, in 1992 GK Transport decided to become a limited company and boomed in growth with contract work, general haulage and deliveries across the UK. Therefore, in 1992 GK Transport Ltd had purchased a multi purpose property – the head quarters yard and offices, storage facilities and a location to perform all services and repairs.

Since 2000 GK Transport Ltd has continuously grown and now effectively and efficiently works in a variety of environments, delivering anything from steel, fiber-optics, tubes, pallets, machines and even boats. We deliver across the United Kingdom and can even arrange European deliveries. We now use Slider flex trucks with our Flats and can acquire low loader trucks and hi ab vehicles when needed. GK Transport Ltd continues to grow in all areas of business and pledge to take care of more company’s in the future. We deliver from small parcels in a van to 28tonne in an Articulated Truck.
